Our inshore charters have been targeting Redfish, Trout and Snook along the calm waters of Clearwater lately and having great success! Although these fish are currently catch and release only, there are large numbers and are a great fight on light tackle. The redfish have been schooling up on shallow grass flats and around deepwater oyster beds while the snook have been found around the beaches.
Tarpon fishing is in full swing with several pods of big fish moving along the beaches. While not every Tarpon will bite, when they do it makes for an exiting fight. Most of these fish average 80-100 lbs with some larger ones being caught. Last week our inshore guide Captain Marlin caught and released several with his clients, the largest being around 130 lbs!
Our deep sea fishing charters have also been successful lately, our full and extended day trips we are continuing to catch big Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper and Mangrove Snapper along with the bonus school of Mahi showing up every now and then. On our 3/4 and half days we are continuing to see steady action of Grunts along with some Grouper and other snapper.
The Goliath Grouper fishing is also in full swing, most of our caught fish this past week were in the 200-250 lb range. Along with the goliaths, the shark and barracuda are also present and willing to eat early in the mornings.

Big Tarpon on our inshore charter!
