As we head into our winter fishing season, both the inshore and offshore boats will make adjustments to get the most out of the cooler temperatures. Often during this time the fish will target different baits and slightly different presentations.
The Deep sea fishing will continue to fish for Hogfish, Mangrove Snapper and Red Grouper for those anglers looking to keep fish as these are in season and legal to take. For our anglers who just want the biggest and best fighting fish, we’re targeting Amberjack and Gag Grouper among others. The half day charters are coming in with some nice Hogfish as well as steady action with catch and release grouper.
The 3/4 day offshore charters are seeing good numbers of Hogfish, Mangrove Snapper and a few keeper size Red Grouper in the mix. The full day trips continue to focus on good sized Red Grouper and some big Amberjack.
Inshore the Redfish, Trout and Sheephead are to best bet with the cooler water temperatures. Nearshore there’s been some great mangrove snapper fishing when the tide is right.
