As we head into May our deep sea and Inshore fishing charters will start to see different patterns associated with our fishery. With warming temperatures we expect to see the Snook and Redfish bite to pick up considerably in the bay. The offshore waters will see plenty of Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Tuna and a few Sailfish.
The past few weeks we have been enjoying a large variety of species on our deep sea charters. The half day trips are catching Hogfish, Lane and Mangrove Snapper with even a few keeper Red Grouper. The full day trips are catching large quantities of keeper Grouper, big mangrove Snapper and some Black fin Tuna. This will likely continue for the remainder of May. June 1st will start our Red Snapper season and we will shift our focus to these tasty fish on the 10 hour trips.
Inshore we have been having great success with Redfish and Snook as the bait schools continue to get larger in Clearwater bay. Spanish and King Mackerel have been solid around the nearshore reefs and makes for some fun fishing for the whole family, especially using lighter tackle.
